Nils Hansen is an award-winning sculptor and crypto artist with nearly 30 years of experience in traditional sculpture and over 20 years in digital 3D art. In 2019, he minted his first NFTs, positioning himself among the early adopters of blockchain technology in the German art scene.

His sculptures have been exhibited in public spaces worldwide, while his digital works are collected on renowned crypto art platforms such as SuperRare, Ninfa, and Makersplace. These works are part of important international collections, including the Museum of Crypto Art (MoCA) and the Whale Collection, and have been acquired by collectors such as MantaXR, Akira, and Xray.

Nils’ artistic practice has been recognized through multiple awards and scholarships, including the A’Design Award in Silver and Bronze. His digital works have been shown at the Crypto Art Fair in Beijing, NFT Art Week in Hangzhou and Shenzhen, the ETH Summit in Denver, the Wow Summit NFT-Expo in Dubai, Mamilla Avenue in Jerusalem, and the Centro de Arte Alcobendas in Madrid. He was nominated for the Innovation Prize Amateras Paper Art and selected as an Artist in Residence at Silpakorn University in Bangkok.

Nils is the founder of the Hybrid Sculpture Lab Berlin—a transdisciplinary space for exhibitions, courses, workshops, lectures, and artistic research at the intersection of traditional sculpture, digital 3D technologies, and blockchain-based art. The lab serves as a platform for experimentation, knowledge transfer, and dialogue between artists, institutions, and the public.

Alongside his independent artistic practice, Nils has worked at Mercedes-Benz and Autodesk, where he combined sculptural thinking with advanced digital workflows, research, and innovation. His work today spans time-based digital artworks, complex visualizations, and monumental sculptural projects, all rooted in a hybrid approach to contemporary sculpture.
